Awkward achievements, or just plain rude. Some games have achievements with proper names, such as
these, taken from the Gears of War I for Xbox 360; Zen and the Art of Reloading - Perform 25 perfect
active reloads (on any difficulty), and Capital Punishment - kill 100 enemies in ranked matches with an
execution. Those make sense, and are not quite as rude as some of the ones that are out there.
There was 1 achievement that started a little bit of a stir, and that was God of War: Ascentions achievement, titled "Bros before Hos" it is now being changed to "Bros before Foes" for more than obvious reasons. Some of the PSN community found this achievement and others form outside of God of War, just a little too close to home.
Some other achievement titles that caught my eye were; "Two Cups One Girl –Dirt 2" which is just a terrible reference to something quite disturbing…. A little more comical with Portal 2's "Friends List with Benefits" These achievements are a little bit rude or offensive. There are a lot more out there as well, but I suppose some people really don't mind at all.
It just makes me wonder what the true expectation we are putting forth. We are allowing these semi rude, but also funny remarks onto the gaming world. Next thing you know, Obama achievements, and then 9/11. Although I wouldn't mind the 9/11 ones, mainly because I get a nice laugh out of those ones.
